What is Expository Writing?

Expository writing is FACTUAL. The purpose is to provide information and explanations. Writers focus on one topic in their writing, provide non-fictional information through body paragraphs and conclude with final comments about the topic explained. There are five expository text structures: description, sequence, comparison, cause/effect and problem/solution.
